Najat Abed Alsamad
Najat Abed Alsamad is Syrian writer born in 1967 and residing in Germany. She is an obstetrician, and gynecology surgeon. Her book releases: a novel “Lands of the Exiles», Riad Al-Rayyes Publishing House, Al-Kawkab, Lebanon, 2010. “Syrian Gournics,” short stories, Madarek Publishing House, UAE, 2013. “In the Kindness of War,” short stories, Madarek Publishing House, UAE, 2015. “No Water To Quench Her,” novel, Difaf Publications and El- Ikhtilef Publications, Beirut, 2017. “The Dignities of Homelands,” part of the Syrian Testimonies Series, Bayt Al- Mowaten, Publishing house of the Syrian League for Citizenship, Beirut, 2018. As for translations from Russian: “A Young Doctor’s Notebook,” written by Mikhail Bulgakov (a joint work). “The Beauty in The Body and The Soul,” written by Vanda Lashneva, 2015. She also has published papers and articles in Arabic newspapers, websites, and Arabic centers of studies. Her novel “No Water To Quench Her” won the Katara Prize for Arabic novels, for the Published novels category.
