Zakaria Abdel-gawad

Zakaria Abdel-gawad is an Egyptian novelist. He worked for Al-Arabi magazine, and was the Managing Editor of several daily newspapers in Kuwait. He won the Arab Journalism Award in 2002.

His novels: Zero Option (2006), The Hat of Homeland (2008), Hell Awakes Early (2011), and The Spare (2013), which was re-issued by the Egyptian General Book Authority (2014), and Dim Passion (2015).

He is also the author of Jogging on the Crystal Mat (2013) and a collection of poetry, What the Ships Do Not Desire (1984).
